Welcome new students & parents!
Below you'll find a few helpful tips & links that are useful for our beginners
1. Karate-Do List:
REMEMBER: Character will take you farther in life than money
2. Live by the creed, click here to go to the Student Oath page
3. The uniform (part of the Student Oath), your Gi (pants, top & Belt) or during warmer months a Parker's Karate Tshirt, Gi pants & Belt. Click here for our Belt tying guide Sensei will let you know when to change from Spring/Summer to/from Fall/Winter.
4. Keep 'em neat: It's important both for your safety and the safety of other students that you keep your nails clean and short. A long finger/toe nail is just as much a danger to you as it is to whoever you're sparring or working with.
5. When you rae (bow): 1) Feet together, it's disrespectful to rae with your feet apart 2) Hands at your side in a fist 3) Eyes Forward 4) Don't bend from your waist, you should be able to see what is in front of you when you rae.
6. KIA! (when you go into a new stance (except for At Ease/Hach'Ji-Dachi) & when you punch or kick)
7. LOOK, LISTEN, & LEARN.
